This series was inspired by the current sea of noise generated by our collective community and my feelings of overwhelm as a result. The constant barrage of opinion on both the serious and mundane, along with the carelessness and volume with which we express our commentary, has made me think back to a time when the written word was more thoughtful and deliberate. When care was taken to express one’s ideas. A time when those that were most articulate or passionate were revered, well before we all succumbed to the influence of social media. I have used the words of a favorite 14th century Persian poet as a backdrop to articulate the preciousness of both language and silence.
